System Administrator

In today’s world of constant global security challenges, innovation in defense is no luxury. After years of budget cuts, military personnel need to train and work with inadequate and insufficient equipment. We have an opportunity to change that.

Responsibilities

As our System Administrator, you will have the opportunity to build and professionalize our IT infrastructure from the ground up. You will be the go-to person for everything related to systems, networks, and hardware. In a fast-growing and highly technical environment, you’ll bring structure, reliability, and security to our operations.

In practice, this means:

  • Managing and configuring our network and FortiGate firewall, including proactive monitoring.

  • Designing and implementing a Mobile Device Management (MDM) system for laptops (Linux, Windows) and mobile devices.

  • Setting up, issuing, and maintaining hardware for new employees, including secure wiping of returned devices.

  • Supporting colleagues with office IT tools (Google Suite) and solving day-to-day IT challenges.

  • Contributing to ISO compliance by helping to define and enforce necessary IT processes.

  • Acting independently and making informed decisions in a dynamic, startup environment.

You’re an independent professional who enjoys bringing structure to a fast-growing environment. With a strong technical foundation and a hands-on mindset, you’re just as comfortable solving everyday IT challenges as you are setting up long-term processes. You like helping colleagues, thinking ahead, and making sure our systems are secure, reliable, and built to last. This includes:

  • Proven experience working in Linux environments

  • Broad knowledge of network management (e.g., VLANs and firewalls), affinity with security and ISO compliance is a strong plus

  • Experience setting up systems and processes in a growing organization

  • A self-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude

  • Experience with office automation and user support

  • Hardware and MDM processes are standardized

  • Operating Systems: Linux (Ubuntu), Windows

  • Firewall & Networking: Fortinet, VLANs

  • Cloud & Tools: Google Suite, MDM (tool to be selected)

  • Security & Monitoring: Wazuh, Splunk
